The free roadshow visited Magh Ene College on 6th November with a show that highlighted the impact of littering on our surroundings. It was an informative and entertaining way to deliver the anti-littering messages to pupils and change behaviours going forward.
Magh Ene senior girls rugby team led by captain and Ulster player Rachel McGee who competed for the GX7’s All Ireland series on the 7th of November in Donnybrook Dublin. Unfortunately despite some hard working performances the girls were not successful this time around. This is the 3rd time in 4 years that Magh Ene has made the All Ireland series which is a great achievement. The team consisted of some veterans of those All Ireland appearances and some new talent coming through from the younger ranks. Thanks to Ms. Byrne for coaching the team this year.

Many thank to Ms Brien for organising a careers talk from NUI Galway for our current Leaving cert students. The talk was extremely informative and gave a great insight into opportunities available to prospective students.
A great afternoon was had by all the second year students who participated in an Irish language singing workshop on Tuesday, 23rd October. The event was organised to mark the end of Bliain na Gaeilge 2018. The students learnt and performed two popular modern songs – “Léim isteach as ngluaisteán” (Shotgun) and “Amhrán an fhómhair” (September song). Ms Suzanne Byrne from ‘Stars of the West’ stage school put the students through their paces and choreographed the two routines. A massive thanks to the musicians Conor Clancy, Maitiu Tierney, Ben Costello and Ruairí McGloin and also to Dervla Carr, Danielle McNern, Jack McGloin, Grace Bradley, Rebecca McGuinness, Sineire Boyd McMahon, Matthew McGeever, Cealum McMahon and Leonard for all the help they gave making this event possible. The students thoroughly enjoyed the workshop and had great fun using Irish in a fun way. Last but not least, a huge thanks to the múinteoirí Mrs Fitzgerald and Ms. McGinley for all their hard work ensuring the students were well versed in the lyrics.
Well done to our under 16 girls and their manager Ms McGlynn who won all 3 of their games in their recent blitz in Convoy. There were exceptional performances across the team with special mention to Sadhbh Sweeney, Aoife Gillespie, Shannon Bowman and Jodie Carty.
Well done to our Senior boys and their coach Mr O Flaherty who had a comprehensive victory over St Catherine’s Killybegs last Thursday in the group stages of the league. There were excellent performances all over the pitch including Jack Delaney in goals, Ethan McGuinness, Conall McGowan and Peter Connolly in defence along with Caolan Clancy, Adam McGlone and Rhys Brennan in attack.
