Congratulations to TY student Katie McGloin who represented Ireland in the finals of the European Young Entrepreneur of the Year which was held in Bulgaria last week. Katie who had previously won the national final of the NFTE competition earlier this year for her gender-neutral clothing company KT Clothing went on to win Bronze at the European Finals. Katie competed against 24 other projects from 8 different countries. Katie was accompanied on her trip by her Business teacher Mrs. McSharry.
Commenting on her success, Katie said ‘Following the national level win in March, I won a ’30 under 30 Award’ and was nominated for the ‘Irish Woman of the Year’ Award and I found that the awareness about my business has increased hugely!! I never expected to get as far as the European Finals and the whole experience has surpassed all my expectations!!’ It has opened up so many opportunities for me – I am also a Youth Ambassador for Shona.ie, a charity that works to support women across the world.’ We look forward of hearing of Katie making further waves in the world of business in the future!!
