Magh Ene College students clean up at Connacht Track and Field event

Congratulations to all the students from Magh Ene College who performed so well at the Connacht Track and Field event in the IT, Sligo on Saturday.
First year student Niamh Carolan won gold in U14 1500m, U14 discus, and the U14 2k walk. She also won silver in the U14 relay and bronze in U15 relay.
John Fallon, also in first year, won gold in the U15 hammer event.
Third year student Oisin Carolan won silver in the U17 discus, hammer, shot putt and javelin.
Aaron Bradshaw, also in third year, won gold in the U17 discus, hammer, shot putt and javelin.
Another third year student John Birney won silver in the U16 javelin, bronze in the U16 shot put and 4th in U16 discus.
All the students now qualify for the All Ireland Track and Field competition in Tullamore next month for all events.
Emma Birney gave very strong performances in 100m sprint, 200m and 250m hurdles in what was her first major competition.

All in Magh Ene College are delighted to hear of all the students’ successes and wish them well in the All Ireland finals!!
