Magh Ene Girls Gaelic play a stormer

Magh Ene Senior Girls gaelic team played Falcarragh today (Friday 14th October) in their first championship match of the year. In a one sided encounter, the girls ran out easy winners on a scoreline of 13-17 to 2-2. In the first half Magh Ene dominated the middle of the park with Eimear Colreavy, Megan McGee and Kerri McGloin cleaning up any loose ball. Kate Barrett, Hannah McNulty and Melissa McGowan ensured that Falcarragh struggled to make any inroads on the scoreboard. Amy McGloin, Abi Barrett and Rachel McGee dominated the 1st half scoring. In the second half Magh Ene played against the wind but despite Falcarragh scoring a quick fire 1-1 the story of the match didn’t change. Player of the Match Rachel Currid continued to dominate up front and added to her significant scoring tally. She was aided by a strong full forward performance by Laura Oates whose long range kicking was superb all day. Magh Ene rang the changes in the second half with Maria McLoughlin, Ellen O Callaghan, Caoimhe Hamrogue and Aisling McSharry all impressing.
